Bangkok (4/2/14)

Well after a long flight, including a very rushed change over at Mumbai, I've landed in Bangkok. It's very misty. Spoke to the people next to me on both plane journeys and had a bit of a laugh with them. Hearing them say they were here for two weeks seemed incredibly short. I keep expecting people to say they're here for a year or a few months at least. Lots of one way ticketers though.

It's an odd feeling to come out of the airport baggage claim and be totally reliant on people around you for help. But trusting one of the people behind one of the desks in the airport seemed like the safest bet and have ended up in a cheap hotel for the night not too far from the Centre. I probably paid too much for the room but it's good enough and still cheaper than home. I managed to navigate the rail system, which looks exactly like the underground when you're on the train. Yellow bars and hand rails, and everyone engrossed in their phones not talking, yawning as they start their daily commute. The only ones talking were me and two Irish lads I bumped into on the platform. I chuckled. It's the same, but different.

Heading out later to see some sights. Probably the Grand palace as its the top sight and I've got zero time here to do much more. Up early tomorrow for a 7am flight so no breakfast for me at the hotel.
